This color correction is a perfect example of how hair color can really enhance someones beauty.  Evalina had fragile broken blonde hair which she confessed was making her look tired and washed out.  The right color can make such a difference, her skin is so much more vibrant, and her eyes pop like never before.  I’ve always believed that when your hair looks healthy, you look healthy.  Something I’ll go into further detail in a later article, but feel it should be adressed now is that Moroccan Oil was killing Evalina’s hair.  Silicones in the oil suffocate the hair leaving it brittle and weak, and when her colorist would put bleach on her fragile hair, it was breaking off, as you can see in the before photos.  If you are using Moroccan Oil today, stop immediately, and don’t take this warning lightly.

kat goes beachy

It’s in right now, but it’s never been out.  The beachy look is what every little kid has after the summer has bleached out their hair.  Especially if you live near the coast, this hair color is always appropriate.

before

kat beforesomeone had already gone for the beachy look with kat, but I felt like the placement was a little off.  with a few corrections, we got her hair to flow a little nicer and make more sense.

Erynne gets color for first time

If you’re nervous about getting color for the first time… Don’t be… It doesn’t have to be a drastic change.  This is a very subtle and beautiful version of what is being called the ombré.  I hate to put this hair-color in the same category because it’s so much classier. Until a new phrase is coined for this, it will have to do.  With soft highlights framing the face and the ends, this color gives the appearance of being out in the sun for a summer.  You can see how much nicer her skin looks in the before and afters.  The lightness of the hair softens the red tones in her skin by reducing the contrast.

gorgeous golden blonde hair

Lizzie came to me with problems that a lot of girls who want to be blonde experience.  Her roots were screaming at her and the rest of it was a patchy mess of white and orange.  It appears that someone was trying to make her into a multi-dimensional blonde.  Her highlights were over-processed, which left them brittle, white, and stripy.  To try to make her lighter overall, her base was also bumped (or slightly lightened) and then toned to remove warmth.  Over time the toner wore off and Lizzie was left with dry damaged highlights on top of orange hair.  This kind of practice is extremely common among hairdressers who simply weren’t taught any better.  You can bring in as many pictures of Jennifer Aniston as you want, but you’re simply never going to get what you want with these colorists.  Lizzie was put on hair color rehab, and after 6 months her hair color was back on track.

strawberry blonde

From a washed-out rooty look to a vibrant strawberry blonde with sun-kissed ends.  Janetta was the perfect candidate for going red-  Pale skin, freckles and light eyes are the ideal trifecta for a redhead.  You can see in the before and after photos how her eyes pop, along with the freckles.  I find freckles to be gorgeous, however some women don’t like their freckles so this is something they have to be informed of when going red.  Notice how the roots still have depth – this is very important in creating natural looking hair color.
